Teaching aims:
(1) knowledge aims:To grasp letters S-Z and words like
blue,red,yellow,green,etc;To help Ss recognize the target language in natural speech;To provide greater understanding of the meaning and use of the target language.
(2) Ability aims:To ask partners about color with sentence”what color is it?”.and know how to answer the question with “It’s red\\yellow.”
(3) Emotional aims:Students can be more interested in English learning,and they can be more confident in expressing their own ideas.
Teaching important and difficult points:
(1) Important points:To grasp letters S-Z and words like blue,red,yellow,green,etc.
(2) Difficult points:To learn to use”what color is it?”.and know how to answer the question with “It’s red\\yellow.”
Teaching methods:Task-based language teaching Teaching aids:Blackbeard、crayon、video、pictures. Teaching procedures: (1) lead in:
show students a short video and ask students to answer questions after watching the video.
Ex. What can the girl see in this video?
red flower\\yellow cat\\orange hat\\black bird\\ green leaves... (Justification:let students focus on the class,and be more interested in English learning)
(2) Presentation:
a. Show students the words of color and ask them to read together,and then,check their spelling and pronunciation one by one.
b. Let students play a game:choose out the words related to color,and then read them together.
c. Show students some pictures and the sentence patterns: “What’s this?”
“It’s V.”
“What color is it? “It’s green.”
T:(point at the pictures and ans students)”What’s this in English?” Ss:”It’s a pen.” T:”What color is it?”
Ss:”It’s yellow.” d. Activity:Bingo
Draw a 4*4 chart on the board. Have Ss copy the chart onto a piece of paper and write a different letter in each box.Explain that the letter can be a big or small letter.
When Ss have completed their charts,the T calls out different big and small letters at random.For example,T:big A,small c,big Z...
(Justification:students can use the target language in natural speech.) (3) practice:
Show students other pictures and ask them to make their own conversations one by one with other students,and then ask some pairs to show in front of the whole class.

(Justification:through practice the conversation, students can be more familiar with the sentence patterns and they can be more confident in expressing themselves.)
(5) production:
a. Finish the exercise on page ten and check their answers. b. Make their own conversation with their own things.
(Justification:through practicing, students can be more familiar with the contents and further consolidate what they have learned.)
(6) Homework:
a. Imitate the conversation and finish the task on page 10. c. Practice asking the colors of things you know in English.
d. Imitate 1c to write two dialogues, pay attention to capitalization and punctuation!
