摘要：PURPOSE: A method for encoding and decoding an ECC(Error Correction Code)block of a high-density optical disk is provided to record eraser detection code stringswithin user data blocks, and to declare an eraser, depending on whether an error isgenerated from the eraser detection code strings, thereby reducing time for decodingand improving a maximum ECC capacity. CONSTITUTION: A system generates user datablocks having a predetermined recording size. The system generates a PO(Parity Outer)for a vertical data string among the user data blocks, and generates a PI(Parity Inner) fora horizontal data string. The system records at least more than one eraser detectioncode string for separately declaring an eraser on the horizontal data string at certainintervals within the user data blocks. An eraser detection code is pure user data.
