Gas washing apparatus has a fan section 3, awashing section 1 containing a rotating spray generator and a droplet eliminator section2 each contained in a separate but interconnected housing and arranged so that the gasto be washed is forced or drawn through the washing section and the washed gas ispassed through the droplet eliminator section. The spray generator is of the rotatingcage type and the droplet eliminator contains upright V- sectioned baffles. The fansection may be arranged upstream or downstream of the washing section and hasmovable dampers to control the amount of gas passed through the apparatus.
