(2021·福建省福州一中高三第二学期开学考试)Last year, most people have probably spent more of 2020 canceling travel plans than booking them, but it’s not too late to reverse that trend. Here are some vacations you can plan this fall.
Road trip to a local farm
Visiting a farm is “number one” travel pick right now. Price plays a big role in that suggestion. Apple picking, for example, is usually very affordable, with some orchards offering products by the pound, for $1 or $2, and others offering a flat fee for an all-you-can fill bag for about $30.
Visit a national park
There are 421 national parks in the U.S., so chances are that you’ve got one in driving range. If you’re up for a challenge, you can climb the Half Dome in Yosemite or race down the great sand dunes in Colorado. The parks are also affordable. An annual pass, which guarantees entry to every park for an entire family, is just $80.
Plan a camping trip
It doesn’t cost much more than camping. Most states have dozens of drive-in camp sites, while you can also find cabins in the $50-$100 per night range. There’s no shortage of activities, either— whether it’s fishing, hiking, biking or just perfecting your camping recipe.
Rent an RV
RVs are a prime option for a cheap vacation. Using an RV for a vacation means you’re paying for your transportation and accommodation all in one. Also, considering that some two-person RVs can go for as little as $175-$200 per night, you can easily find yourself traveling around the country without breaking the bank.
1.Which vacation would a thrill seeker most probably choose? A.Road trip to a local farm C.Plan a camping trip
B.Visit a national park D.Rent an RV
2.What do the vacations have in common?
A.Wallet-friendly. C.Family-friendly.
B.Environment-friendly. D.User-friendly.
3.What’s the unique advantage of renting RVs? A.It makes your vacation adventurous. B.It offers free trips around the world. C.You can kill two birds with one stone. D.You may have someone to keep you company. 二、
(2021·山东济宁高三下3月一模)I am thrilled to welcome you to the 20th annual Roger Ebert's Film Festival, a special event in partnership with the University of Illinois College of Media, the greater Champaign-Urbana community, and movie lovers everywhere. Little did we think, back in 1999,that our experiment in reinventing the film festival — to make a festival that celebrated overlooked films and the women and men who made those films — would become a landmark annual event in the life of our community and contribute to the repairs of the remarkable Virginia Theater.
In selecting the films for this year, Chaz Ebert and I looked to women filmmakers for our inspiration. Fully half of our films are either directed or co-directed by women, and several others have women in powerful producing roles. Films directed or co-directed by women include 13th, directed by Ava DuVernay, Belle, directed by Amma Asante, and American Splendor, directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. And women producers include Lynda Obst and Emma Thomas (Interstellar) and Ruth Ann Harnisch and Danielle Renfrew Behrens (Columbus).
Our opening night film is The Fugitive , directed by Andrew Davis, a graduate from University of Illinois. Our Saturday night film is the classic The Big Lebowski. Our guest will be the Hollywood master Jeff Dowd. And of course The Alloy Orchestra will be back, this year with A Page of Madness , the classic Japanese silent film.
We would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, festival pass holders, and individual ticket holders for their welcome participation. We look forward to your unwavering support to make our festival more successful each spring in central Illinois. (2021·张家口宣化一中高三下阶段模拟)Do you like shopping? For shopaholics in the UK, the place to head to used to be the \"high street\". This location refers to the streets in the centre of a town where businesses and popular branches of retail(零售)chains could be found. It was the place where you could find familiar fashion brands and essential everyday items.
But change in our shopping habits has taken its toll on the British high street. News about shops losing money and shutting is now common. Some city-centre department stores have closed and even long-established retailers such as Marks and Spencer have reported profit slumps.
As the BBC's Emma Simpson writes, things have become a lot harder for traditional retailers in recent years. They have faced rising costs from wages, business rates and the requirement to introduce Europe's new data law.
But the biggest threat has come from online shopping. She says, \"Consumers now spend one in every five pounds online-and if businesses are seeing 20 percent fewer sales on the shop
floor, then profit margins will be squeezed.\"
While some of us like to window shop-browsing for things to buy, only to purchase them online at a discount-the fact is that, overall, shoppers are making fewer visits to high streets. Eventually, town centres could become like ghost towns. If people aren't out and about shopping, they won't use other services, like cafes, restaurants and cinemas. It also results in job losses.
The British Retail Consortium has already warned that 900,000 UK retail jobs could be lost by 2025. The high street has also suffered from the coming of big shopping malls, which offer a retail experience under one roof, with free parking, away from the bad weather!
Meanwhile, back on the high street, some shops still exist. Analysts have said it's those that have moved away from traditional retailing that are surviving. These include beauty salons, nail bars and independent coffee shops-but are these kinds of shops enough to keep the British high street open for business? 8.What is the \"high street\"?
A.The street in the high places in the UK. B.The street without big shopping malls. C.The street where you can buy fast food. D.The main street of a town with many businesses.
9.What do the underlined words \"taken its toll\" in paragraph 2 mean? A.Had a bad effect.
B.Taken its advantage. D.Changed its form.
C.Done something good.
10.What is the main cause of the decline of the traditional retail? A.Rising costs from wages. C.Business rates.
B.Online shopping. D.Europe's new data law.
11.Which kind of businesses can survive on the high street? A.Popular branches of retail chains. C.Department stores. 四、
B.Fashion retailers.
D.Beauty salons and nail bars.

down at the cruelly young age of 30. It used to be thought that this couldn‘t be helped, but people of any age could train their brains to be faster and, in effect, younger. Your brain is a
learning machine. Given the right tools, we can train our brains to act like they did when we were younger. All that’s required is dedicated(专注的) practice: exercises for the mind.
A scientist has developed a computer — based training schedule to speed up how the brain processes information, Brain HQ. Since much of the data we receive comes through speech, the Brain Fitness Program works with language and hearing to improve both speed and accuracy. Over the course of your training, the program starts asking you to distinguish sounds (between “dog” and ''bog\ for instance) at an increasingly faster rate. It's a hit like a tennis instructor, shooting balls at you faster and faster over the course of the summer to keep you challenged. Though you may have started out slow, a month later you're pretty quick.
The biggest finding in brain research in the last ten years is that the brain at any age is highly plastic. If you ask your brain to learn, it will learn. And it may even speed up while in the process. To keep your brain young and plastic you can do one of a million new activities that challenge and excite you: playing Ping-Pong or contract bridge, doing puzzles, learning a new language, a dance, taking piano lessons, building a model airplane, mastering gardening technique, discovering the secrets of beer making and, sure, relearning advanced mathematics. Anything that closely engages your focus and is strongly rewarding will kick your brain into learning mode and will definitely improve it.
12.Why did the author call our brain a learning machine? A.It works well at any age. B.It can be trained to be sharp. C.It helps you acquire knowledge. D.It can be used to store information
13.What are you asked to do during the Brain Fitness Program? A.Speak a language at a high speed. B.Tell apart words that sound similar. C.List words that have the same meanings. D.Receive tennis balls thrown by an instructor.
14.Which of the following best describes the learning process of the brain? A.Faster and faster.
B.Hard and difficult. D.Easy but beneficial.
C.Tired but delighted.
15.What do we know from the last paragraph? A.The function of the brain. C.Activities used to train the brain.
B.Fitness program arrangement. D.Pleasure from different activities.

九、(2021·重庆市高三12月质量检测)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Two months ago, my friend Lisa, Harry and I, planned to do something adventurous, so we decided to explore a deep cave in the outskirt of our city with some food, water, torches and most importantly our cell phones. But things were not going well. We could not find any vehicle to drop us there. At long last, we managed to find a taxi which took us to the outskirt of the city. Another evidence of bad luck was that Harry had left his cell phone at home.
After we got out of the taxi, some of the locals told us the way to the cave. The cave looked very attractive yet still mysterious: the cave was so dark, and the tiny sounds made by the insects and animals could be heard properly, pulling us into the cave with some unknown supernatural power. As we were moving forward we made marks on the rocks along our path to remind us of the exit of the cave. And we always kept our mobiles in switch on mode to contact each other in case we got separated and even worse, lost in the cave.
As we were moving forward, Harry felt that somebody was following our footsteps but he left his intuition to a joke. When we reached in the deep of the cave, we lost our way and
gradually the fog spread everywhere and we were not able to see each other properly. All of us got very scared of what was happening around us. Suddenly, we noticed that Harry was not with us and then we vaguely heard a shout from the depth of the cave and we thought it was Harry, so we started searching for him. But our torches were left no use in such thick fog. 续写词数应为150左右 Paragraph 1:
So we groped our way towards the direction of the shout. _____________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2:
After we reunited with Harry, we tried to find the way out. ____________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

九、答案:
So we groped our way towards the direction of the shout. Frightened as we were, we still made up our mind to search for Harry. Hardly can we see anything in the completely dark situation, so we had to feel our way to search Harry with all strength. Slowly and cautiously moving forward, we held our hands tightly in order not to be separated. With the voice approaching, we realized we would meet Harry immediately. Fortunately, when finding Harry sitting on the ground, we sighed with a relief.
After we reunited with Harry, we tried to find the way out. Without hesitation, we decided to hunt for these marks which we had made before. “I get it!” Harry screamed. Looking up quickly, we found these clear marks easily. It was with the help of these marks that we quickly found the exit. When walking out of the cave, we knew we were saved. From this experience, what we learnt was that it was dangerous to explore the unknown word without a fully detailed plan. 解析:
