这个口语表达的意思是 It is impossible to be certain about something. 也就是“很难说，谁也不知道，谁也没把握”的意思。

（2）How can you tell?
你怎么能说出来？× 你怎么知道？ ✔
例句：

（3）tell不能翻译成“告诉”的原因
tell 除了“告诉”还有一个常用的意思：to know recognize or be certain. 知道，认识到
例句：
