S2: Maybe it’s the Five-fingers mountain. Step 2 New words According to the mountain picture, the teacher teaches the new words of this passage. Step 3 Pre-reading 1. Look at the pictures and learn the magic stick and the abilities of the Monkey King. 新 课 教 学 2. Step 4 While-reading Task 1 Read loudly and find out the topic sentence of paragraph one. Reading skills: The topic sentence is often in the first or last sentence of a paragraph. Task 2 Read more carefully and finish the three true or false questions about paragraph one. a. In November 1979, in America, there was a new TV program called Monkey. ( ) b. Most of them heard the story for the second time. ( ) c. The main character is the Monkey King or Sun Wukong. ( ) Keys: F F T Task 3 Work on 3b. Work in groups to find out the abilities of the Monkey King and put them into the box.
