a. 单音节词,一般直接在词尾加-er,-est. 特殊情况:

以-y结尾:变y为i再加er / est

以一个元音 + 辅音结尾:双写末尾辅音,再加er / est bigger, strongest, taller, larger, shiest …

b. 双音节词,除以-y结尾的双音节形容词,先变y为i再 加er和est外,其他绝大多数双音节词是分别在此前加more和mostc. 多音节词都是分别在前面加more和most more interesting, the most successfuld. 不规则词

意思和loud作副词时一样,但是搭配位置不同

① loud 只能放在动词后面speak / talk / laugh loud

② loudly 可以放在动词前后speak / talk / laugh loudly

The audience laughed loudly at the joke.台上有人讲笑话,下面的声笑

The cock loudly crows outside my window.公鸡在我窗户外面大声啼鸣。

business

你应该别插手事务:business / affair区别:

① affair 可以可数,business 没有复数形式have an affair with sb. 婚外恋,有外遇② affair [formal]

方向不同 注意介词也不同

Jack borrowed the car from Jimmy.Jimmy: I lent the car to Jack.single

single:单身的single / married

I am single. = unmarried我现在单身single room:单间

exciting 令人激动的/ excited

-ing 用来形容事物 / -ed 用来形容人回忆一下还有哪些词属于这类?surprising / surprised

astonishing / astonished更强烈的震惊disappointing / disappointed让人失望amusing / amused 有意思

confusing / confused 摸不到头脑The whole thing is confusing.

receive / acceptreceive:收到,接到(by mail)收到的东西内心并不一定接受

abroad vs. aboard

abroad : in a foreign country,overseas在国外

aboard : on or onto a ship, plane, bus or train登上船、飞机 公交等交通工具adv.

go abroad / get aboard

cover sb. / sth. with / in sth. be covered by

日常口语,也可以和travel互换

fail失败 — success成功

set / make up one's mind on sth. / to do sth.下定决心做某事
