V. Teaching procedures Step1 Revision:

Show some pictures of their hometown and let students talk about the changes of their hometown. Step2 Presentation

1. Our activities have changed a lot besides living conditions let students discuss a question “What do you usually do in your free time?” and show the results to the class. 2. Let students think about a question “What did people do in their free time in the past?” and lead to the new lesson.

3. Let students read the text in group and finish three tasks: Read the text and write down the new words. Read the text and write down the new phrases. Read the text and tell the main idea of each paragraph.

4. Ask some students to write the new words and the new phrases on the blackboard. 5. The teacher explain the meaning of the new words and the new phrases by using some pictures or making examples.

6. Let students tell the main idea of each paragraph. Step3 Consolidation

Let students retell the text according to some pictures. Step4 Practice

1. Read the article on the screen, listening carefully and fill in the missing words. 2. Read the text again and complete the table. Step5 Project

1. Show time: some students pretend to be reporters they can interview others about their leisure activities.
